Reports reach us of a victory in the far off land of Evendim.
The Defenders of the Free Peoples, led by Captain Isilorbor Ventris, landed at the island of Rantost in recent days, there to do battle with the newly returned grave robbers and their angmarim masters.
With the aid of the Wardens of Annuminas, a secretive and insular bunch that many people believe to be the so-called Rangers of the North, the Defenders were able to land their boats with little fuss or noise on the beach of Rantost
Stealthily, our heroes made their way into the ruins and then the fighting began in earnest. The battle was short and bloody. In little time at all, our heroes thought themselves assured of victory.
But lo, just as it seemed that the day was won, there came the brazen call of the angmarim horns!
Looking out to the great lake, the Defenders and their allies saw boats sailing toward them; boats bearing the colours of their enemy. Swiftly the valliant men and women returned to the beach, seeking to stop an enemy landing. Alas, this distraction allowed the surviving desecrators to dig into the ruins once more.
A vicious battle ensued, with the angmarim indeed establishing a footing on the sandy shore whilst from behind the cowardly theives of relics sought to distract and harry the paragons of vituous justice via ambush.
The elves of the Defenders, Rasheke, Elianiour and Aeglor, made a valiant effort to halt the backstabbing tactics of the grave robbers whilst the brave captain led the rest in battling the angmarim coming from the fore.
More boats sped to land and it seemed like the Defenders would be beaten, but bravely they rallied against their foes and gradually the horde before them thinned until the day was finally declared as won!
The Angmarim retreated from the shore of Rantost, their tails between their legs like so many whipped dogs and whilst the Wardens of Annuminas pushed further into the ruins to seek out and destroy the few surviving romb robbers, the Defenders gathered up the wounded to take back to their boats.
